Our Practice Goal
At Tao Mindfulness Centre, we believe true well-being begins with reconnecting with yourself.
Our practice combines mindful movement, breathing, Tai Chi, meditation, and energy awareness to help you reconnect your body, mind, and inner self.
Relax the Body & Brain
Release accumulated tension, improve mobility and balance, and become more aware of your body and brain.
Restore Your Energy
Through movement and breathing, develop greater awareness of your energy and restore a natural sense of vitality and balance.
Quiet the Mind
As the body relaxes and breathing becomes deeper, the mind can become calmer and clearer.
Reconnect with Yourself
Beyond physical relaxation, our practice gives you time to turn inward, listen to yourself, and become more aware of what truly matters to you.
Live with Greater Awareness
The ultimate purpose of practice is not simply to feel better during a session. It is to bring greater awareness, balance, and inner strength into your everyday life—so that you can make clearer choices, respond to life’s challenges with greater stability, and live with greater purpose.

Shine Choi
Born and raised in South Korea, Shine grew up in a traditional patriarchal family environment. Witnessing the peace of her family being repeatedly disrupted led her, from a young age, to ask deeper questions:
Why was I born? Who am I? Where am I going? What do I truly want?
Through years of searching, she eventually found herself struggling both physically and emotionally. She realized that these questions could not be answered through thinking alone.
A Body & Brain Yoga Centre that happened to open near her home became a turning point. Through practice, Shine began to experience a felt sense of energy and internal awareness—a connection between body and mind that went beyond what she had previously known.
Years of dedicated practice helped her restore her physical and emotional well-being while developing a deeper understanding of herself and how she wanted to live. Wanting to share what she had experienced, Shine became an instructor. For more than 20 years, she has taught in South Korea, Hong Kong, and Canada.
Her areas of focused practice include Chakra Healing, training and healing for gut health, and Brain Wave Vibration, integrating movement, breathing, energy awareness, and meditation.
Today, Shine continues her journey as a “Tao Master of Life,” learning and growing through life itself. Her vision is rooted in love for humanity and the Earth—helping create a more healing and harmonious world where people can live with greater awareness, balance, and connection.
Now settled in British Columbia, Shine enjoys watching thriller movies and taking neighborhood walks with her husband, Edward.
